Construyendo el futuro de la terapia ocupacional en España

Resumen

La reciente constitución del Consejo General de Colegios de Terapeutas Ocupacionales ha supuesto un nuevo hito en nuestra historia. Desde el año 1967 en el que se creó la primera Asociación estatal el movimiento asociativo se ha desarrollado en paralelo a la evolución política y social de España. El camino de la creación y consolidación de las diferentes Asociaciones Autonómicas y después su conversión en Colegios Profesionales no ha sido fácil aunque un grupo de personas han puesto gran esfuerzo de forma totalmente desinteresada en ello. El Consejo ha de ser una importante herramienta para consolidar el futuro de la profesión sobre todo en cuanto a representación política y social, pero no de forma exclusiva. Para ello ha de optimizarse la participación de sus miembros y profesionalizarse su gestión. Otros aspectos destacables estarían relacionados con la mayor implicación de los Colegios en la formación de los futuros profesionales y en el desarrollo de la producción científica de la disciplina. The recent constitution of the General Council of Occupational Therapy Colleges has been a new milestone in our history. Since 1967, when the first State Association was created, the associative movement has developed in parallel with the political and social evolution of Spain. The path of the creation and consolidation of the different Regional Associations and then their conversion into Professional Colleges has not been easy although a group of people have put a great effort in a completely disinterested way in this. The Council must be an important tool to consolidate the future of the profession, especially in terms of political and social representation, but not exclusively. For this, the participation of its members must be optimized and their management must be professionalized. Other remarkable aspects would be related to a greater involvement of the Colleges in the training of future professionals and in the development of the scientific production of the discipline.
